Episode 12 Luke Worrell talks about helming the Realtors Land Institute and his family business.
This week Koby catches up with Luke Worrell RLI President and Managing Broker of Worrell Land Services. They discuss everything from joining their family businesses to running the Realtors Land Institute. He talks about his path into the land real estate world and balancing family and business time.
He is the fearless leader, team quarterback, and an all-around great guy according to his team. Luke specializes in land brokerage and farm management, holding designations as Managing Broker, Accredited Land Consultant (ALC), and Accredited Farm Manager (AFM)*.
Luke’s professional accomplishments have been recognized within the land industry with awards including the 2018 Realtors® Land Institute (RLI) Rising Star Award, an annual honor conferred to an aspiring leader. Luke also received the 2017 RLI ALC-to-ALC Networking Award for the largest ALC-to-ALC land transaction nationwide based on sales volume. He has also been a member of the RLI APEX Producers Club each year since it started in 2017, a group that includes Land Brokers across the country who meet an annual sales volume threshold. Luke received the 2016 Illinois Farm & Land Broker of the Year Award from the Illinois Farm & Land Chapter of the RLI, an award selected by peers throughout the state of Illinois within the land real estate profession.
Luke is active within the National RLI where he is currently President, part of his four-year term on RLI’s Executive Committee. Luke previously served as President for the Illinois Chapter of the RLI, which earned the 2015 Outstanding Chapter Award. He is involved in the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ISPFMRA) as chair of the Illinois Farmland Values and Lease Trends committee. Additionally, Luke is a two-time past president of the Jacksonville Area Association of Realtors.
Locally, Luke volunteers on the Illinois College Agribusiness Program Advisory Board, Jacksonville Kiwanis Club, and within his church. He is committed to lifelong learning; he makes it a priority to participate in ongoing educational opportunities throughout the year to help him continue to be an expert resource for landowners and the ag community, in general.
